Harbor Freight is a growing United States tool retailer that is looking to add 400 new locations over the next five years. When Harbor Freight decided to build its first Staten Island location on the corner of Forest Avenue and South Avenue, it awarded Daggart Construction Corporation it’s first ground up building in North America.
The first step was to demolish the old Western Beef Supermarket that was standing at that location. Daggart accomplished that task safely and efficiently. The old Western Beef Supermarket was approximately 30,000 square feet of concrete, brick and steel that had to be cleared away before the Harbor Freight construction could begin.
After prepping the site, Daggart Construction went to work constructing a new 30,000 square foot, state-of-the art retail center. We are most proud of the interior structural polished concrete slab. We used a state of the art laser screed to make the slab perfectly level. The slab was than grinded down and polished with precision result. We also built a parking facility to accommodate 85 vehicles. Harbor Freight was able to open its doors on its new Staten Island location on time.
